I never really thought about it. But Microsoft basically leads almost all forms of modern wide use technology progression.
They lead in OS, they lead in console gaming. They lead in software development.
But on top of this...
Everything is made by default to be compatible with microsoft. If you're making a software, you are making it for windows. Windows is dominant for pc development and in turn everything is made almost exclusively for windows.
