I've been a big fan and supporter of Shovel Knight since the early days and was really pumped for Pocket Dungeon. I'm not the best at puzzle games or roguelikes, but I have fun and enjoy them, and was really looking forward to a game that was easy to pick up but offered lots of hours of fun and depth.
I got Pocket Dungeon on launch day and played pretty steadily for the first week and I found myself having less and less fun with it as it went on. The tutorial, I found, leaves out a lot of information, even on default mode I find things move too quickly and frenetically (and dying automatically fills up the board while you wait for your little Shovel Knight angel to get sent to the top of the board?). It's difficult to keep tabs on the powerups and the enemy descriptions while focusing on the main screen in the middle... About 10 days later, I'm still not past the first 4 or 5 levels with Shovel Knight.
I know this is probably just me, but.. I find the whole thing just... doesn't work. It's a noble effort and looks and sounds amazing, but at the end of the day am I the only one just... not having fun?
