So, I like PC gaming, but I could only do it on my laptop, which wasn’t the best. Metal Gear Solid V is probably the most advanced game it can play (I’ve found that it can play 360/PS3 games, but draws the line for the next generation). It was fine until a few months ago when it broke and I needed to buy a cheap one secondhand. It still plays most of the games, but it’s slow as hell. Thankfully, Valve announced the Steam Deck and my estimate is Q1 2022. I’m really excited to play some of the games I was never able to play, and I’m wondering what I missed over the past few years due to my laptop’s limitations. Here are some of my favourite games on different consoles:
Metal Gear (especially Snake Eater) Yakuza 0 and Kiwami (I started Kiwami 2, but I think I’ll wait to finish it since it doesn’t run very well on my laptop) Some Assassin’s Creed games (Revelations and Black Flag are my favourites, and I’ll probably end up playing all the ones I haven’t played yet) Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Blacklist Some Final Fantasy games (haven’t played anything after X) Skyrim (but I haven’t played a lot of it) Portal Red Dead Redemption (thinking about RDR2 since everyone says it’s a masterpiece and I loved the first one) Soulsborne (haven’t played DS3 or Sekiro) Professor Layton Zelda (my favourites are Twilight Princess, Majora’s Mask and Breath of the Wild) Minecraft
So, my favourite genre is stealth and I prefer games with a decent narrative, but none of it is necessary. I’m open to any suggestions. And it doesn’t need to play at 8k 120fps or whatever. 720p at less than 30fps is fine for me. Just let me know what you’ve enjoyed over the past few years.
