I'm aware that I'm not necessarily making a purchase, but I feel this subreddit is best for my question.

As most would know, when registering Mario Kart 8 at Club Nintendo, a free voucher for a game download becomes available. There are four redeemable games which are: Zelda WindWaker HD, WiiU Party, New Super Mario Bros. U, and Pikmin 3.

Now I own WindWaker HD, I'm uninterested in WiiU Party and now I'm left to choose over Pikmin 3 and NSMBU. I've played the Pikmin 1 back on Gamecube and loved it very much and the New Mario Bros. series (since DS) was very exciting. Although, I'm slowly finding out more and more things about the NSMB series being just copy-and-paste, repetition, and just dulling out as the series expanded. I played the Wii version and LOVED it. When I got my hands on NSMB2 for the 3DS, I really disliked it. I preferred Super Mario 3D Land over NSMB2. However, I'm wondering if someone with experience with either game can give me their input. I've also played Pikmin 3 co-op with my girlfriend and with the new Pikmin patch that's available to make gameplay unique; that also sounds interesting.

So which is a better grab? Pikmin 3 or New Super Mario Bros. U?
