I have an H&R Topper barrel that was sold to me and an NEF frame (same gun, different branding). The barrel goes on fine and closes fine, but the latch isn't catching to lock it shut. Since it's just a spare barrel and isn't fitted to this gun, I'm okay with possibly ruining it. Would filing down the mating surface on the barrel potentially allow it to latch? It doesn't quite click closed, so my impression is that the latch isn't fully engaging. I don't have to press the lever to open it, it just comes open.
