I just picked up a new SX4, am looking for advice on additional choke tubes to get. Still kinda new to shotgunning and the various differences of how chokes impact the various types of shot (lead/steel/bismuth, etc). This group is awesome with helping out newbies, thx everyone in advance.
I have the factory IC, MOD, and Full. Also picked up the Carlson Cremator MR and LR set. Compared to the Carlson clay chokes, the MR is .725 which works out to a LM, and the LR is .715 = IM. Would the Cremator set stand in for a LM and IM or would a “clay choke” in the same diameter shoot differently?
I have a patterning board set up, but wanna make sure I have the right range of chokes to test with before I go to all that effort. If it matters I will be duck hunting over decoys and maybe a goose hunt. Am a fan of the Boss shot shells and think that’s what I’m likely going to start off with.
