The shotgun I own is a Mossberg 590a1. Just sitting back here re-watching early episodes of The Walking Dead, and recently watching some movies about relatively recent military operations in the Middle East, I've been seeing a lot of guys shoot shotguns (I'm aware it's Hollywood, not realistic.) Having not yet fired mine, I'm wondering how hard it kicks back into your shoulder. Does it leave bruises? Do you wear some kind of protective padding there for this reason? Or does it depend on which ammo you're shooting?
