$VIH Merger But DON'T BAG-HOLD
Post Body

I got burned in the TRCH-MMAT merger. I watched a lot of people get burned in the SPRT-GREE merger. I'm stupid. I sold $AMC at $20. So, maybe scroll on.

But, I think I see a pattern in price action around mergers. I think short sellers borrow and sell a lot of stock pre-merger increasing short interest. As the merger gets closer, some sort of gamma covering drives the price even higher and they short more relying on lax FTD rules. When the merger occurs, the chaos around the ticker change and general fuckery causes the price to decline substantially and short sellers clean up.

To potentially profit from this, I'm considering buying the stock pre-merger as short sellers are building the short interest, then selling the pop and NOT HOLDING THROUGH THE MERGER.

$VIH short interest is around 40%. It's headed for a merger soon, although the date hasn't been set. It may be an opportunity to ride a price pop.

Again, I'm a moron. This is not advice. Use your own noodle.

Best of luck and may we all prosper.
