Hello! I’m currently planning a 10 week trip to Mexico starting in February but i’ve been having trouble estimating the costs.
Right now my route is central(ish) Mexico focused, I want to go to the following: Guadalajara, Jalisco, Sayulita Guanajuato, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido and maybe some more places, I’m very open to suggestions!
I want to take my time exploring and spend 4-7days in each place. I want to stay away from any expensive touristy places. I really want to visit museums, parks, eat great (but affordable) food and have a chill relaxing time, while also getting to really explore each place to the fullest. Oh and I plan to stay at hostels.
Right now I’m estimating spending about $2000-2,500usd. Is that too low, too high, or perfect? That number doesn’t include plane ticket costs but it does include the costs of transportation from place to place. Im a college student so I’m really trying to stay frugal.
Also open to any other budgeting tips, attractions to see, and other things to do. This is a solo trip and I’ve never been out of the country before so this all completely new to me.
Thanks in advance!
