To start this community off right, we should establish some basic rules. As the community grows, we can modify the rules to organically match the desires of the community.

I would propose the following ground rules. Please let me know what you think of them:

1. No NSFW - This is not the place for that. If a game contains NSFW material, it should be censored out to be SFW in this sub.

2. No memes - Again, this should not be the place for that. Many games have their own meme communities already anyway. I would like this place to be a more serious area for discussion

3. "Shock" refers to games like System Shock and BioShock, not to shocking content in general - This community is about immersive sims with strong emphasis on plot, art direction, and combat mechanics with a weapon in one hand and a superpower in the other. It does not mean "shocking" material like any plot twist, gratuitously obscene or grotesque content, or electrical shocks.

4. Content must be relevant to the Shock genre - This should not be a generic gaming subreddit. Non-shock content, such as other games and other media like movies, music, and art, may be discussed as long as a strong comparison or contrast to Shock genre games is apparent.

5. Be nice - Don't be a jerk. Moderators may remove posts with poor etiquette at their discretion.
