A caged animal.

Vertical steel.
Pacing, panting.
Rumbling vibrations, was that me?
Silence.
Claws on cold metal.
Back and forth.
Cries of pain and sorrow, Who’s there?
Darkness.
The high of adrenaline.
Soon the sinking weight of sadness.
Liquid brushing my cheek, leave me alone!
Awareness.
