I believe that the Karma distribution on Reddit corresponds to the value offered by each individual user. CMV
Post Body

I see lots of people saying that the Karma distribution on this website is unfair, that it's biased to give more karma to those who already have lots of karma. One user said that the top 1% of Redditors control 80% of the karma, and that it's because of that control that they keep karma in the hands of the power users, rather than letting it go to an individual who worked harder to get that karma, but came from a background of karmaless self-posters. I know that that's not true though!

I got a job at my father's subreddit reposting links from /r/funny. I get that karma because I deserve it. If any user who didn't have as much karma had worked harder and made better choices in their life, they could have reaped in that sweet, sweet karma instead of me. They got where they are because they're lazy and stupid; I got to where I am because I worked hard and I'm more intelligent, because I earned it.
