If you missed the statement, that's probably because the only website you look at is reddit. While the direct link to the speech was submitted hundreds of times to various different subreddits, a grand total of zero made it to the front page. Only one submission received over 10 karma, with a lot more submissions in the deep negatives.

What did make it to the front page was reddit's vewy vewy med reaction.

In Advice Animals, you'll find this super thoughtful submission titled "Scumbag Obama on Surveillance" with an upvote total of 748! Good work guys!

In it, the author lays out their thesis that Obama should care more about NSA spying if he doesn't like direct and personal racism. Obama, this affects white people now. You should care more about the white people.

Numero Dos Med Bro

This one comes from the grand halls of /r/conspiracy, so you know its going to be nuanced and thoughtful. It's titled "Obama's Sweeping Trayvon Statement SUCCESSFULLY Distracted The Media (& Masses) From Today's NSA Re-Authorization!" with a score of 1294.

I don't even want to look at those comments bc I'm sure the NSA will upload a virus INTO MY BRAIN.

Numero Tres Med Host

Our third, and sadly final front page post about Obama's statements come from /r/cringpics. Yes, Obama's statement on how he's directly been affected by racism was so terrible to white reddit that it makes them cringe.

It's titled "Obama just posted this on his official Facebook page, this is just getting ridiculous now..." with an upvote total of 394. It's a direct quote from his statement in which Obama sympathized with Trayvon, saying he could have been the victim 35 years ago. I just cringed so hard at reddit the skin peeled back from my skull.
