This is a post about a guy going through hard times, which you know, is never fun, and I can't really blame him for expressing his pain.
But you know who you can blame, with no context whatsoever?
The female possession.
"Forget about the hoe..." [ 277]
"And if you must interact with her, rub one out first." [ 54]
Someone talks about how they check up on people they've broken up with because they care about their well being? Literally hitler.
"... you are trying to make yourself feel better. Leave them alone."
"...Get over yourself..."
"... you'll know someone with bigger boobs someday." [ 47]
"Fuck her, let's get a sandwich."
"IMHO you should tell them to go fuck themselves."
But realtalk: here you have a case of someone who is hurting and vulnerable, who turns to reddit for support. A great opportunity to talk to them about coping strategies, how to move on, how to be an adult about it, how to help the wound heal without sealing in bitterness.
But no. Reddit tells this guy to hate his ex. To feel sour and to harbor a grudge against her. You're seeing our culture in action here. When young men have their feelings hurt by women, instead of being taught how to heal and move on, or even to let a friendship grow, he's taught that he should blame her, hate her, see her as a defective object. And although I'm sure it's obvious how this harms women, it also creates a generation of men who can't function as mature adults, who have learned to chose spitefulness over catharsis, who end up feeling alienated from the world because they've abandoned their emotional responsibility. And that is how reddit came to be.
