It seems as though history is repeating itself, with many so called progressive Bernie Sanders supporters vowing to support Trump over Clinton should Sanders fail to win the Democratic nomination:

"Same. If Hillary wins the nomination you will see me and other full blown progressives vote Trump. Hillary is garbage, I do not want garbage as the most powerful person on the planet, as well as the first female president."

"This isn't as ridiculous a concept as it might seem at first. But I think if Sanders drops out a lot of his anti-establishment supporters will take a serious look at Trump. As soon as it was clear Trump was going to lose Iowa, I started die-hard rooting for Bernie."

Now, I'm not one to support Bernie Sanders or his illegitimate claim to socialism, but I still found this to be extremely interesting. The parallels between this and the betrayal of the left by SocDems in Germany are undeniable.

TL;DR: Bernie Sanders supporters prepared to go full reactionary and betray the growing leftist movement if he does not win.
