If a drilling company leaves port and comes up to a lift bridge, what would happen if the ships mast is 27 m above sea level and the bridge is 16 m above sea level with a Max lift height of 10 m...?? Is this a problem? If it is, how would one go about fixing that issue???!
The tallest part of an offshore drilling rig is the derrick and those things can go over 60m tall.
The derrick isn't usually designed to be taken apart, but it's not impossible if the operation demands it. The only place where I've seen them do that is when they were bringing rigs through the Bosphorus, otherwise they'll simply avoid taking routes with bridges.
