Fresh Start New user

I decided to go Ubuntu and Shinobi. I think I followed everything. Lot so stuff installed etc. Have a folder on desktop full of files but still no clue how to start Shinobi so I can add my cameras?
No icon to launch program. Some of the things in folder seemed to want to reinstall what I already installed.
While I have dabbled in Ubuntu for awhile I am by no means a linux guru. Need some help learning to launch this thing!
