Will the new Google Chromecast remote work with my shield?

I really like the design and the fact that it has dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube, while also having a star button for any favorite app (TV or Disney in my case).

Doesn't tapping twice on the home button does exactly this? This is how I did it with my original 2015 remote and how I do it now with my replacement remote from Amazon.
