Black screen for a few seconds at the start of Dolby Vision and HDR10 videos
Post Body

Hi,

I recently purchased an Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) for having the option of playing Dolby Vision MKV files that run from my Plex Server (local network).

The Shield is connected via HDMI to a DENON AVRX1500H and the Denon is connected to the TV (LG C8) via HDMI (ARC). I don't know if it matters, but I'm expecting a new TV (LG G2) that will replace the current one.

The HDMI cables I use are branded Amazon Basics High Speed with Ethernet. Now, I cannot find their specifications but I'm pretty sure they are HDMI 1.4.

I have enabled HDMI Deep Color on the TV and the AVR HDMI is set to enhanced.

Now, I can play Dolby Vision and HDR10 content just fine via PLEX and Netflix but on both I experience the same issue. I press play, the audio starts but with a black screen. After 3-5 seconds the video starts also and everything works well from that point on. When I stop the video, I experience the same dark screen for a few seconds. I suspect that this is a loss of video signal and not just a black screen because one single time I've got the No Signal message on the TV for one second and then everything worked.

Any idea if this is normal or it's something that I could fix with some high speed HDMI 2.0 cables?

TLDR: Shield connected to AVR. AVR connected to the TV. Dolby Vision and HDR10 content plays but there is a few seconds delay in the start of the video. The audio starts immediately. Once the video starts as well, there is no sync issue. Everything works fine.
