There was a theory posted a few weeks ago (I couldn't find it again; if someone else could I'd be grateful) that posited that Janine had some connection to Moriarty. She is after all, the secretary of Magnussun and obviously very intelligent.
My theory (or rather my roommate's theory) is that she is Moriarty's sister. This would make her Janine Moriarty. What if she's the real Moriarty from the books? I know its a fairly weak speculation, but its something to think about.
