I retired recently and decided to go 'all in' on home automation. I may have jumped the gun when I purchased a bunch of the Shelly 1 mini Gen3 when they were released. Now that I've learned a few more bits and bytes since I ordered them, I realize that they are only rated for 8amps, but all of my circuits (where I want to place these) are 10amp breakers. I believe that this poses a potential weak link that could be dangerous in the event of a unexpected short. Were these not intended for the US market where most circuits are 10amp or 15amp in residential structures? Wouldn't installing these be considered a code violation?
I'm trying to think of alternate uses for these as I don't want to add fuses to the darned things -- too much work. Anyone have any comments or suggestions?
