As I mentioned in my Shantae GBC post I unfortunately lost patience and used a walkthrough to explain things that were otherwise unclear to me, the wall in the graveyard area, the fact you could destroy the stones in the final boss and they weren't just an asset floating on screen.
I also went pretty far in Pirate's Curse until of course Mud Bog Island thought it'd be a fun throwback to have a hidden block in a specific part I hadn't broken with the scimitar from the previous area, but I already complained heavily on that in the mud bog island post.
The only other game I played is Risky's revenge which I've been doing good with so far but Hypno Tower has stumped me, I did technically use a guide in the form of the wiki because I was confused as I got the four keys from a section but it wasn't opening the Hypno Baron door, apparently there's 2 halves of a skull I need to find but I'm pretty sure I looked all through the dungeon, and I haven't found the mermaid ability statue yet either, I really do wanna beat at least one Shantae game completely on my own, no walkthrough just my puzzle solving, but I'm probably never going to on account I'm not a very bright fellow and sometimes these games like to pull their punches (By throwing in obtuse junk like invisible walls literally nobody can predict are there.)
Hoping the latter 3 games I haven't gotten to yet aren't as brutal as the original trilogy has been to me so far, but what about you guys, did you ever solve these puzzles all the way up to the final bosses? Is it more rewarding that way?
I never use guides for any game.. and I complete metroidvanias to 100%. 🤷
