Should I play Pirate's Curse?

So, I've never played any of the Shantae games, and I have no idea what to expect. (I only know of it because I think the women are hot, haha) I'm thinking of playing Pirate's Curse first since I can get it on Switch and it's always looked the most appealing to me from what little gameplay I've seen. How difficult of a game is it? I play a lot of 2D platformers, and I love Hollow Knight, Celeste, and Kaizo Mario World ROM hacks especially, so maybe it won't be too bad. Thoughts?
