Shane's Series on Reconnecting w/ his Dad
Post Body

Hey guys, I wanted to vent a bit since I feel like you guys would understand.

If you guys remember Shane's series he made months ago about visiting his dad at the beach, I have a similar relationship with my parents. It's been super rocky to the point where I haven't seen them for the past 9 months and we have only spoken to each other when absolutely necessary. I'm a college student who lives near my parents, which is why such a long time away has been so weird. My ex-boyfriend who I was extremely close to supported me as I was dealing with all the problems with my family. Anyway, he and I broke up last week, which has been hard on me.

Well, after such a long hiatus with my parents, I finally decided to see them again post-breakup. We got dinner and I cried to them about my life and it felt good. I held so much resentment for what they did but we were able to see each other without arguing.

I decided to watch the Shane series again and I couldn't help but notice how supportive Ryland was of Shane and his dad. It's gotten me all worked up because I wasn't able to have my ex there. I wish I could tell him about it so he could be proud of me. I've been crying all morning because I miss him and this is a big moment for me.

Anyway, I hope you guys reach out to the people you love. It's hard but it's worth it in the end.
