Thank you Shambhala for being so vigilant with spreading the SOS number. I had it saved on my phone, but also the stickers were everywhere.
Sunday night I encountered a dangerous and emergency situation with a person who had taken far too much acid. We called the SOS number and security showed up into deep metta with 4 minutes. That’s faster than any 911 call response I’ve ever experienced in the states where I live.
On top of their emergency response, obviously the existence of Ankors and the Sanctuary is just fucking incredible.
Finally, shoutout to the medical team. I had to go there for an unrelated & minor issue, and was floored by the team of volunteer nurses and doctors and their extent of resources available to help with literally every possible medical issue someone could have. The doctor was able to literally give me a prescription for antibiotics that I was able to pick up in Salmo the next day. Most festival medical tents in the US that I’ve seen have the bare minimum stuff but at Shambhala I felt so safe and taken care of.
There is truly nothing like this festival. Shoutout to all the volunteers that make Shambs the safe space that it is.
