Is it ok to make new traditions for new a shaman?

Post Body

To clarify, becoming pagan will make me lose my people as most of them are (I don't mean to offend) Muslim and because of that I think I should make own traditions. My people don't have shamans anymore and those who claim to be shamans are scammers.

I want to be a shaman because I want to learn ways to be a healer, also to be a protector and I feel a strange 'pull' to shamanism.

To put the question much simpler. Is it ok to start my own traditions from my current belief? And is it possible to be a self-made shaman? (Optional) what should I know about being a new shaman?

Thank you for reading, I'm sorry if I offended anyone and I hope you all have a nice day 😁 (P.S. I'm not Muslim, I believe in the gods and spirits)
