So played 5th ED for first time last night (it was great!) and there was one thing that I didn't quite understand.
I had snuck up to a building with a closed door and a dirty window with my target inside. I made a perception check to see if I could get any info before going in. I was both looking for clues (do I see the guy through the window?) and listening for anything inside (how many people, what are they saying?).
Now my perception pool was 8 dice and my limit was 5.
But my char had specialized in hearing from the perception pool. So a possible 2 extra dice there.
This being a cyberpunk dystopia I was of course wearing chromed mirrorshades, and they had the vision enhancement mod (among others) which gives 1 to the limit for lookin at stuff.
So the dice pool could have been 8,9, or 10; and the limit could have been 5 or 6.
How does this get broken down when using dual senses in a test? Or anything else where you are partially using a specialty or enhancement?
