Being a single mom is so difficult. Raising the child alone and trying to play the role of both parents and also at the same time earning as much money as you can to afford the best for your son. This life situation made me apply for different jobs but none of them accepted my application since they were looking for younger girls. Suddenly i came up with an advertisement of a world organization that provide the medical help for prisons. I've been working for a couple of years as a nurse in one of the milan's hospital so i applied for that. after 3 weeks i received an email saying that ive been accepted for an interview for a nurse position. At first i got very very excited cause i know that nurses get paid much more then bar tenders. Replied immediately to the email saying that im more then available for this job. After a couple of days i went to an hospital wearing a formal dress and presenting myself as professional as possible. In the interview office there were 3 doctors who welcomed me and start asking me questions about the first aid and other medical knowledge that a nurse must have. happy, i replied to all of the questions adding as much info as i could to appear in front of them as the best applicant. at the end of the interview they told me that since they were a world organization they do recommendations for all around the world and now they were searching a nurse for a prison in India. To be honest i didnt expected this offer.... thought of somewhere near Milan and i wasn't ready to leave my home, beside i have my son ... Kevin.... told them my family situation and they assured me with a smile on their faces that for all the people working in this institutions they have created boarding schools so their children could stay and have the proper instruction. they showed me the pictures of the place and it seems very appropriate . After some days i signed the contract with them and found myself with Kevin in the airplane to India. i was so excited about this new experience and somehow afraid cause the prison environment is not a good place to be but with that amount of money that they are paying to me it was amazing. the moment i stepped on the India's airport there was someone waiting for me at the exit gate with a piece of paper with my name on it. From his face i could say that he is Indian.... i put a smile on my face and walk slowly toward him. im wearing a pair of comfortable jeans and a t-shirt while pulling my suitcases and holding Kevin's hand which seem so afraid. I knew that someone from the prison would be waiting for us in the airport and would take us to the officers dorm in the prison where i would stay during this time. step in front of him smiling ..."hello ... im Adela "
