Seeing all these “what if’s” and world comparing has got me thinking. How would the Shil react to humanity having the advances of either the “Scarlet Traces” graphic novels or the “ministry of space” world?

On the one hand you have a rabidly xenophobic humanity cowed by the strength of the British empire (the war of the worlds happened) which by 1940 has every single soldier equipped with heatrays as well as a heavily armed space fleet who have been fighting on Mars for 40 years.

On the other hand you have a highly advanced Commonwealth which has fully colonised the moon and Mars by 2001 following the British snatching everyone in operation paper clip after WW2 and leaving the Americans and Russians as non players in the space race.
