I’m glad this is here because I’m so lost. I was sextorted yesterday and I just don’t know what to do. It was a Facebook friend request I accepted and then we started talked for a week. The day it happened they asked to video call and then a girl came up on screen masturbating. Shortly after I see myself masturbating and they then proceeded to request money, which I sent at the time as I did not know what to do. After I calmed down and started thinking straight, I went straight to my local authorities and filed a case. They also helped me get my money back from the transfer that was in progress. I’ve deleted my Facebook account after messaging friends and family, and I’ve also temporarily deactivated my IG just in case. I talked to my family about it and know it’s early but I still feel so lost and afraid. I just want someone to really care about me romantically and ever since me and my last girlfriend separated ways (it was a good separation, no drama) I just felt that I didn’t have that in my life and was looking to fill that void in my heart. I’m posting here not only to share my story for some relief, but also because I think it’s a safe place for me to share my story. Thanks guys if you’re reading this far.
