I seriously can't believe I fell for this. I have a public work webpage. All you have to go is Google my name and city and it's the first link.
I messaged someone from Reddit. My first mistake. We moved to telegram. My second mistake.
She asked for video calls to confirm identities. I naively went along. I did one with my head. I did a separate one with my dick. Two separate calls.
Then they immediately started blackmailing. Used my phone number in the telegram message and said to pay up or they'd post on Facebook.
My third mistake.
I made a new PayPal account but used my real name and address. I sent them like £0.09 because of the exchange rate.
Somehow, they used that to find my work profile page and my LinkedIn?!
Then we had a to and fro. Them threatening to release unless I bought them crypto. I tried negotiating. A part of me knew I didn't have to pay but I was still so anxious and scared in the moment.
They asked for £900. I said I didn't have that. Somehow I got it down to £150. I constantly said I could only pay £50.
Finally I had the sense to delete all the messages and block them. I've signed out of telegram and have set it to delete after a month for good measure.
Is there anything else I can do?
How did they get my details from PayPal. I'm really shocked by how much info you can get from me just from a Google search.
