I was having a discussion about this with someone. I occasionally take my number down because I’m not always looking forward to constantly having to be available to respond to inquiries everyday.

I’ve almost thought about coming up with an alternative, especially since I have a separate ad phone # than the one I use. The alternative would be to only answer texts/calls during certain times of the day: like a one or 2 hours of the day period only. Then turn it off the rest of the day. But I know there’s small chance of that working because USUALLY someone will not be looking until my phone is off. And non during the hours when I have it on.

However, I feel when I don’t have my number up: It seems there’s people who don’t want to click or go to my website that I may be missing. Even though I direct them to view it.

But overall, I’m just not feeling like I want to continue to take unexpected phone calls anymore. I want people to at least go HALF WAY thru the booking process before even contacting me. I’m finding myself angry, depressed, and anxiety responding to messages everyday that don’t even lead up to appointments. Or they expect something super short notice that I can’t accommodate anyway.

I read elsewhere on here someone saying, if you don’t take same day appointments: don’t put your number up. I am open to take same day appointments some days, but it’s the “now” and anything less than 2-3 hours notice that I can’t accommodate most times because: I don’t have a private apartment to work out of. I’m usually driving or staying in hotels, and many clients don’t realize I don’t have the means to offer instant appointments the moment they see my ad.

So that’s why I’m leaning more towards not showing my number anymore because: inquiries round the clock kinda just wind me up.
