Hi everyone! I wanted to share a little bit about my journey and maybe get some advice or make new connections. 🙌🏻
I’m a former SW who worked as a booking assistant at an agency for years. Recently, I decided to go independent as a virtual assistant because I wanted to work more closely with the ladies I assist without the limitations that come with being tied to an agency.
Honestly, starting out on my own was a bit tough, especially because the agency wouldn't allow me to use them as a reference or mention their name as part of my work history (not sure if that's normal or not). But I’m really grateful that I’ve been able to connect with two wonderful ladies this year. They’re not just clients, they’re incredibly kind and inspiring, and I feel fortunate to support them in their work. 🥺❤️
Right now, I’m not as busy as I was while working with the agency, so I still have some capacity to assist one or two more ladies. I’m very professional and have a website for my service, but I don’t take a percentage commission from bookings, my role is purely focused on providing dedicated assistant support.
For any former SWs who have transitioned into assistant roles, I’d love to hear your tips and experiences. What strategies have worked for you when building your client base or marketing your services as independent? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! or if anyone happens to know someone who might be interested, a referral would be mean the world to me! Thanks for taking the time to read my story. 😊
