Hello you wonderful fellow SWās š©· So, I am just looking more to vent / get other peoples opinion.. I started pre Covid (2018) working in a small city in Canada at a āfull service massage parlourā where I learnt the ropes and built a small clientele.
I left my province in 2020 to go to Vancouver, BC Canada where I found quite a bit of financially security - although very low rates and high volume (slowest day $200 - busiest day $2200)
Unfortunately, I gave up my apartment after 4 years which was $2400 for a studio.. I was getting burnt out by the high volume, cheap prices and high cost of survival.
Fast forward to this month where I decided to return back to my home province. Unfortunately the spa I started out went out of business last year, so my only option is traveling 2 hours away and trying to work in a spa that way ( I would need a license by the city in order to even get hired in a parlour)
Bills are falling behind, I am spending $8 a day just for a basic leolist ad ( Canadian advertising board) I rented a hotel tonight thinking Iād have 2 serious inquires (did a background search and their numbers lead to a real number / social media accounts etc)
I feel like it is not worth doing this independently at least in my province. I notice a lot of the traveling ladies are avoiding this town/city which is making me wonder if thereās just no money over here.. so far the other 12 texts since Oct 12 have been fake text apps or completely waste of time even replying.
I am starting to feel hopeless, negative etc. so many ladies in this industry tell me to tough it out and all it takes is one good day. Unfortunately I havenāt gotten a serious booking since arriving Oct 12 and I am now considering going back to a spa where at least I will be guaranteed some walk ins / regulars from the spa instead of multiple time wasters : no shows etc.
Is anyone else finding working independently is attracting more time wasters and fake bookings compared to working for an agency / spa. I really donāt know what to say anymore with all the text apps and no shows that seem to sit on those ad boards.
