I wanted to vent a little and see if anyone else is experiencing this lately. It seems like more and more clients expect us to just drop everything and be available at a moment’s notice. I get that sometimes people have spontaneous needs, but there’s a lot that goes into our work that they just don’t see.
For starters, our schedules are often booked in advance. It’s not just about finding a free hour its about ensuring we’re physically and mentally prepared, setting the right atmosphere, and making sure everything is safe and secure. Plus, many of us have lives outside of work that don’t just revolve around being on-call 24/7.
Same-day requests can throw everything off balance. It’s like people forget that we’re running a business, not just sitting around waiting for their call. Professionalism goes both ways, and expecting immediate availability just feels disrespectful to the time and effort we put into making each session as good as it can be.
Does anyone else feel this way? How do you handle clients who expect last-minute appointments?
