Zipcode scam?

Firstly, I'm new to Snapchat and my practice has been to add folks as a contact in order to keep track of and contact with them later. Apparently, this notifies them and some have messaged me in response.
Three women have asked me, unprompted - without any other greeting, by the way: "What's your zipcode?"
I never follow up because of how infrequently I open that app, but is this some kind of scam setup? Thanks in advance for your insights. :-)
