Client fwiw: Quick background - I live in Hawaii, and this isn't the first time I've encountered this.
Why do providers have/maintain/update ads for locations they aren't in?
I understand having an ad up for the purpose of pre-booking, especially given the time and capital required to tour in this state. But I have reached out to multiple providers in the past who have ads up in my area, and nowhere on their ad, website, or social media does it mention a tour off the island or that they aren't based here (or aren't expecting a FMTY arrangement). Only to find out they have no plans to be there now or in the future.
The ads in question are kept reasonably up to date (new photos, bumped on PD, checked on Tryst or p411 recently), but they're not set for multiple locations, so how are they finding clients? It just seems non-productive.
Edit—These aren't new ads popping up either. I've seen them for the past couple of months or years and decided to reach out because I am leaving soon.
