I’m a retired SW who was trafficked in the beginning of my experience with SW.
My biggest passion is starting a non profit, residential, 6-13 month program staffed with doctors, nurses, therapists, etc for trafficking survivors and people who want to leave the business for their own personal reasons who want help processing the trauma that usually comes along with this line of business.
My area doesn’t have these kinds of resources available, as I found out about six months ago when looking for a good residential program for myself. There are only TWO of them several hours from me in different places in my state.
I’m doing a ton of research and taking business classes in preparation for this. I just thought it might open my perspective more to talk about it to other SW’s about my idea and receive input.
I figure everyone’s experience in this line of work has different views and perspectives, and that you all may have some tips and advice that I may not think of on my own.
Also any advice on businesses that will donate funding for the project, types of grants to apply for, and people/organizations to contact who are supportive of SW’s and push agenda’s that will legalize it in the states that are anti trafficking.
Thank you 😊 much love to you all! 😘💕
