Hi all, just wanted to remind everyone in the US that on odd number years the local offices are all up for election nationwide, this includes: - Judges - Sherrifs - County Attorneys - City Councils - Governor (NJ, LA, MS, KY) - Mayors - City D.A.s

As a result they're gonna be looking for any big bust that they can send for PR, and to put as many "sex criminals" away as possible before the elections to be able to fluff their numbers.

Judges also give substantially higher sentences and set up trial rules to be especially harsh on defendants during these periods to appear "tough on criminals." Of course, most of the "criminals" they're tough on are mentally ill people, addicts, and totally innocent people just caught up in the net.

Just be extra careful until the 8th. For states with staged elections the pressure will be on until the middle of January.

Generally: If you can try to find a sex crimes attorney and have their number on hand & memorized in case you get harassed or pulled in on a specious charge; if you can set up a retainer even better. (This is hard; I don't have it done yet 😅)

Also remember: if you work in a different state than you live there's gonna be a different set of rules across the border and they'll use that to get you to fuck up and admit to something you didn't do.

The only words you should every say to a cop, prosecutor or DA are "I'd like an attorney," "please call my attorney," "direct all questions to my attorney," and "I invole my right to remain silent."
