Hot Magic wand rechargeable?

Ok. So I JUST bought my wife the wand yesterday she hasn’t used it yet because it needed to be charged. So I plugged it in about 20 mins ago and the wand is noticibly warm to the touch. The light is still on so I assume its not fully charged. I am a little nervous leaving it alone while we go out for breakfast so ill unplug it, but is this common with New wands or the rechargeble in general? Or should I seek a replacement? Thank you!
