How to make fake cum from XLube?

Just ordered xlube but it hasn't arrive yet.
Out of curiosity, can I just simply put white food coloring when doing a batch of lube to make it look like cum?. Is it safe?.
Note : I preferably like to make 'cum' batch that is one and done type of deal and make a new one when after that. Means I don't necessarily want to store it for extended amount of time.
