The park was filled with people sprawled on blankets, waiting for the outdoor movie to start. I’d come alone, thinking it would be a relaxing way to spend the evening.

“Mind if I share this spot?” a guy asked, gesturing to the empty space beside me.

“Sure,” I said, smiling.

As the movie started, we shared popcorn and whispered comments about the cheesy dialogue. His laugh was infectious, and the way he leaned in close to hear me made my heart race.

When the credits rolled, neither of us moved, the crowd dispersing around us.

“You’re more interesting than the movie,” he said, his voice low and teasing.

I laughed, but before I could reply, he kissed me. It was slow and tender at first, but the way his hand tangled in my hair, slid his hand on my puss my made my pulse quicken.
