My car broke down on a deserted road, and I was struggling to figure out what was wrong when a truck pulled up behind me.

“You need some help?” the guy asked as he climbed out. He was tall, with a relaxed smile that instantly put me at ease.

“I think it’s the battery,” I said, shrugging helplessly.

He grabbed some jumper cables and got to work, chatting with me as he connected the wires. He was easygoing, his humor making the frustrating situation almost fun.
