Hello Berlin

I’ll post about this while it’s still fresh in my mind. Me and my partner were at our first Paradise Garage and second Kit Kat visit yesterday.

At around 4am we both felt a little over whelmed and anxious by the big dance floors so went “downstairs” somewhere to a smaller dance area with two DJs (a male and female) playing psytrance. This was right next to a bar also. We were both pretty sober as it was our first event and we wanted to experience it as such before coming next time and drinking.

We were just resting and sitting down on one of the sofas listening to the music and chilling when I had to go use the toilet. While we usually travel together in the club since we don’t have our phones, I told my partner I’d be right back from the toilet and to meet here where we were in 5 minutes. I went up the stairs, ignoring the bouncer standing right in front of me and to the bathroom on the left. As I came out and tried to go back down the stairs he stopped me and said no. I asked him I just came for a quick pee upstairs and my partner is downstairs and alone still. He said you can’t go and “please don’t ask me again for 10 minutes.” I didn’t know what else to do so I waited standing by him for 10 minutes and asked again, now thinking my partner would be worried, and he said “you can’t go down anymore”. I again told him about my partner being alone and feeling anxious and offered to let him hold my wallet as a guarantee that I’ll go down to just get my partner and come back asap. At this point he was completely ignoring me. This wasn’t a communication problem as he understood me perfectly. I started to panic and went to the bartender near to me and explained him the situation. He then came with me to the bouncer and told him off and let me go downstairs.

Anyhow my partner was a little worried but fine. Neither of us had our phones so she had gotten more anxious on finding me - the whole incident took around 20 minutes when it should have taken 5.

Hoping someone from Paradise Garage or Kit Kat can see this and perhaps avoid such situations in the future. And what was his reason to not let me go back down after clearly telling him my partner was still there and I had no way of contacting her.
