I mentioned the fact it had 250K people 9 months ago, but somehow people tried to justify it. Just thought it was funny. It also has more people than the majority of state capitals. A "town" that size likely has skyscrapers, not one stoplight. Credit to a fellow fan for bringing it back up a few days ago.
I 100% believe a writer was playing their own inside joke, knowing they could slip the name Gilbert in and coworkers would have no clue Gilbert AZ was not only real and one of the fastest growing cities in America, but is literally the LARGEST incorporated town in the United States. Anyway, props to whoever did it. Was I not raised in Arizona, I wouldn't have caught it.
