I feel like people don't connect with Whitney's storylines as much, but I like her as a character and think there's a lot of potential for her character. A few possibilities:

• Whitney's mother hooks Kimberly up with an internship working for a Vermont congressman/senator (maybe a campus rep or a GOTV aide) while there's still tension between Whitney and Kimberly over Canaan.
• Whitney dates a fellow jock- would be interesting to circle back to the earlier discrepancy between male and female athletes. (Maybe her boyfriend gets an extension on a paper/exam that she doesn't get offered.).
• Meet/revisit her absentee/deadbeat father. It seems like his absence has had somewhat of an impact on her relationship choices- she chooses men that don't treat her well (Dalton, BioBro) and struggles with trust when they are good guys (Canaan). Like, maybe he has a gig in Boston or Burlington, and she convinces the girls to drive with her so she can see him.
