Why does everyone bully Carla?

I know this may come off as preachy or ā€œtoo deepā€, but I really dislike how they treat Carla in the show. I understand that comedy can sometimes rely on mean-spirited/insult humor (Bojack and Mr. Peanutbutter) or horrible things happening to a single character repeatedly (George Constanza a la Seinfeld). However, I feel like Carla is made a punching bag for no real reason.

Iā€™ve also noticed a larger trend (first pointed out to me in QuentinReviews ā€œSam and Catā€ series) where characters who tend to display more neurodivergent-esque traits (infodumping/special interest dumping, over sharing information, trouble staying on topic, inappropriate emotional responses, etc.) tend to be made theā€annoyingā€ background character.

I understand Kimberly is also the butt of the joke sometimes, but I feel like jokes are usually made about her cultural ignorance rather than about her as a person. Carla is ridiculed time and time again or outright ignored because her interests and information is seen as inherently annoying or needlessly distracting.

I donā€™t know maybe Iā€™m reading too much into it as someone who is neurodivergent and had awful college experiences in club environments. I donā€™t think itā€™s super intentional but more like the whole ā€œmonsters tend to have physical deformities in horror movies or villains are mentally illā€ trope.

That being said, it still really bothers me and honestly makes me dislike Bela and the other ā€œfeministā€ Foxy writers (which sucks because I love Lila).
