Post Body

To the west, the small tower of Crow's Nest overlooked the mountain pass through the Red Watch. To the east, days like these, with clear skies and not a snowflake to fall, offered a view of Cloud-Covered Rainwood, crouching low against the easternmost hills of the Red Mountains. The sights at Crow's Nest were little to those of Grandview, but still worth beholding with awe, and doubly strategic. In a few months time, those snow covered passes could be soiled by hundreds of Dornish shoes, but if Blackhaven held, and hold it would, then everlonger would the Red Watch be the quiet home of, among others, the House Morrigen of Crow's Nest.

Lady Rhaella found peace in that. There was not much to strive for in a keep such as Crow's Nest, in a town such as Crow's Nest, and that gave even a Lady time to spend with her husband and her children. She did not envy those whose only company was their council. For now, she had quite some administration awaiting her, as her banners were gathering and the men had to be fed, their absence from the fields and villages duly compensated. Better to be safe than sorry, should the Dondarrions, and the relief force, fail.

After supper, however, work was to be done no longer. Rhaella retreated to her chambers, modest though they were in number, and sought some conversation with her husband.
