I address the letter to you, because I know your father has not yet returned from his quest to retrieve Red Rain. That same quest is the reason I am writing to you now. For House Stonehouse has long been your vassal, and I have followed your father for my whole life, as my father followed his, and our grandfathers before. We have raised our men and our ships, and sailed in his name, and will gladly do so again.

But since the death of the old way, House Stonehouse has not held the same riches that once built the Carved Keep. And feeding our men and maintaining our ships for your father has cut deeply into our treasury, and we are the verge of bankruptcy.

What I ask of your father, and which I deeply regret having to do, is the refunding of our costs in maintaining our army thus far(An amount roughly equal to twenty-and-five score golden dragons), and if this conflict ends without plunder or benefits for us then the remaining costs too.
