I've been working in the restaurant for 2 years. Never had to come in more than 1 hours before open before. I've asked to not be scheduled open frequently before. I explained that I'm a tipped employee and I don't think it's right to be making tipped employee hourly for hours I'm ineligible for tips. Management and I agreed that it has to be done everyday and that we will all share in this hour of unpaid work but not often. Next week starting Wednesday they have me scheduled 4 hours before open to prep cook. I asked if I would be making prep cook wage they said no, I asked what I'd be making and they said the usual 2.65. wth! They say it's only because someone walked out. Hoping to find a new job before then.
